More than just coffee.

My love affair with coffee began somewhere around 8 or 9 years old, in the gentle warmth of my maternal grandmother's home. On those treasured nights when my cousins and I would pile in for a sleepover, we'd drift off to sleep wrapped in laughter and the comfort of belonging somewhere special.
Morning always arrived like a gift — the air thick with the smell of a freshly cooked breakfast, and something even more magical: coffee. My grandmother was a wonderfully no-nonsense woman with a deep and unwavering devotion to her instant coffee, and on those golden mornings, she'd allow us the most delightful privilege — a half cup of watered-down instant, just like the grown-ups.
What a magical moment!
Those mornings were beautifully simple, unhurried, and full of a kind of joy that only exists in childhood. We were building something without knowing it — memories, bonds, a connection with a woman whose love showed up quietly, practically, and imperfectly perfect.
Now, some mornings, the deep nutty aroma of freshly brewed coffee drifts through the air and carries me right back — to her tiny kitchen filled with laughter and love. One nostalgic sip at a time. ☕
